DIFF-ICULT DAY FOR WALL
03.08.2012
Mechanical issues saw Wilson Security Racing's David Wall complete a sum-total of seven laps during today's practice sessions at Queensland Raceway.
Two diffs, the mechanism controlling wheel rotation, broke in quick succession meaning Wall and endurance co-driver Chris Pither spent most of today's four sessions watching from the sidelines.
Wall did, however, get to complete four laps in this afternoon's media ride session and says he was pleasantly surprised by the car's handling.
Qualifying for Race 16 of the Championship begins tomorrow at 13.25.

"We ended up putting car 14's spare diff in so there's obviously something wrong with the other two. That was our fourth attempt at fixing the problem but we got on top of it before tomorrow and that's the main thing. I was surprised how my car felt in the rides; it actually felt pretty good.
"Including the rides and in-and-out laps I think I did seven laps in total today. It's a disadvantage for sure but far less so than if it happened at Townsville, where I'd never seen the place. Luckily there's another full practice session tomorrow and I've got two team-mates so we'll go from there.
"It is frustrating but that's the sport; some days are good and some are bad. Hopefully from now on it's smooth sailing and we'll push on regardless."
